Last week Dutch superyacht builder Royal Huisman, known for its prominent sailing superyachts, announced plans to expand its dedicated refit department, Huisfit.
According to the company press release, Huisfit has secured “exclusive and exceptional deepwater facilities at Emden Dockyard.” Royal Huisman stated the goal for the Huisfit expansion was to secure exceptional refit facilities on a permanent basis – effectively eliminating any restrictions associated with temporary rented locations.
The permanent facilities required non-tidal vessel access in addition to proximity with the majority of Dutch maritime services and exclusive access for Huisfit clients, according to Royal Huisman all criteria have been met with the successful Emden Dockyard partnership.
Located in northern Germany the new Huisfit facilities include over 300,000 square meters of space complete with dry docks, covered and heated refit bays in addition to advanced equipment and holistic services. They also offer access from land, air and sea.
The new Emden partnership enhances the already outstanding refit capabilities offered by Huisfit. The faciliites are capable of renovating, repairing or completely restoring sailing yachts and motor yachts of nearly any size.
