The newly launched 96m Feadship Vertigo has been spotted arriving from Amsterdam in Gibraltar on what is reported to be its delivery cruise.
We covered M/Y Vertigo when it was on sea trials at the end of 2016 and the time has come for its official delivery. It is now one of the top five largest yachts launched by Feadship.
Vertigo’s exterior styling was created by Redman Whiteley & Dixon and the interior work was a collaboration between Redman Whiteley & Dixon and Chahan Interior Design. The steel displacement hull is powered by twin MTU 16V4000 M63L engines and carries 60,000 liters of water in addition to 220,000 liters of fuel. At 12 knots Vertigo has a transoceanic cruising range in excess 5,000 nautical miles. It’s top speed is 17 knots.
The interior accommodations include nine staterooms for 18 guests and additional room for up to 32 crew members. The total interior guest space on board Vertigo comes out to 900 square meters, or nearly 10,000 square feet.
Among the many features on board Vertigo is a dedicated internal helicopter hangar and landing pad which can hold a Bell 429 helicopter. There is also a 9m glass-bottomed swimming. Feadship says the creation of this glass pool required laminating five layers of clear glass interspersed with foil to create a final thickness of 68 millimeters. The glass bottomed pool receives water from a waterfall.
